In an earlier post I talked about how I painted numbers on our staircase using craft paint and stencils. Well yesterday, as I was cleaning the stairs, I noticed how scuffed up the risers were looking. I started to clean them. Then I grabbed my new found electric sander and decided to “distress” the numbers just a wee bit more. I didn’t realized how powerful this sander is and I ended up sanding a few of the numbers completely off! So out came the glossy white paint. I repainted each stair riser. When the stairs were painted they looked great, but I knew I would miss those numbers. I did NOT want to repaint them, too time consuming AND the goal of the day was to clean the entire house, not work on the stair numbers (hello ADD!). Out came the Cricut…I know, I am LOVING this thing!
I printed the 4.5″ numbers in black vinyl and stuck them on each riser. I swear this only took about 20 minutes or so. So much quicker than painting them and they look great!
Nice clean, crisp letters…
And, I still had time to finish my cleaning !
