My wish…

We had a wonderful day today.

The kids and I didn’t do anything extraordinary, just spent quality time together ~ enjoying a beautiful late summer day.

We have our little 3-year old cousin Benjamin with us.  Ben is just so adorable and we all LOVE him SO much.

I decided to skip my workout and plan something fun with the kids.  We decided to go over to the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Farm and Petting Zoo to see the animals.

Although this is a pretty small farm, we were all very excited to go.

We had to keep in mind however, that our 3-year old cousin still naps, so we had to get a move on.

It was such a beautiful day — low 80’s, sunny, with a warm, refreshing breeze.

Perfect.

You could totally feel that fall was in the air.

We love fall, but really, really love summer too!

The kids loved seeing all of the animals.  There were horses, a pig, cows, goats, bunnies and a small fish pond.

All of the kids were wonderful and my oldest who is 14, almost 15 really enjoyed the animals.  He loves animals, and his sisters and cousin.

He was such a helpful young man, who at times, totally took charge of the little ones without my influence.

{which is always very impressive and makes me so proud}.

We didn’t stay too long, just long enough to walk a bit, say hello to the farm animals, take some pictures and get a few beautiful mum plants for our window boxes.

Oh, and to make a wish, a double wish actually….

School starts next week for my kids.  My baby will be in elementary school, my big girl in intermediate and my oldest will be starting his first year of High School.

I got a little emotional today thinking about that.

I am going to miss my babies.  As crazy as summer can be, packing up for day trips to the beach, friends, piles of sand everywhere, washing towels and MORE towels AND the constant picking up, I am bittersweet about letting them go back to school and back to the crazy routines, homework and schedules.

All in all, I am realizing how big they all are getting, especially having a little 3-year old boy here to put things in perspective for me.

It goes by SO fast.

Friends and family with older children tell me that once they start HS it’s like a “blink of an eye”, you will be at HS graduation and they will be off to college.

{..ouch..}

I am sentimental.  I am emotional.  I am protective.  I am a worrier.  I don’t like letting go.

I AM my children’s Mama, so it’s okay.

It’s my choice and I hold them close and hang on as tight as I can.

I choose to love them hard.  Seriously, is there really any other way?!?

Am I a perfect Mom???

Not by a long shot.

I get annoyed, complain and huff, puff.  And, I can YELL like the best of em’!

{Not my proudest admission, but it happens}.

However, I love just as hard as I can YELL, even more so.

I have SO, SO many prayers and wishes for my babies.

So much so that I don’t know if I could put them into words.

So…

I have copied lyrics from “my wish” sung by Rascal Flatts…it’s just perfect.

And, if you don’t want to read the lyrics, you can scroll down and listen to the YouTube video, cuz I added that as well.

~ MY WISH ~

I hope that the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
And each road leads you where you want to go,
And if you’re faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin’ till you find the window,
If it’s cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,

But more than anything, more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you’re out there getting where you’re getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
All the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God’s grace, in every mistake,
And you always give more than you take.

But more than anything, yeah, and more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you’re out there getting where you’re getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

This is my wish
I hope you know somebody loves you
May all your dreams stay big

I wish you all of the love and happiness with your family, loved ones and children.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!!
