happy fall.

Yup, it’s officially fall.

I just love everything fall;

cool, crisp air, falling leaves, brightly colored mums, hot cider, apple picking, corn mazes, hayrides and of course boots and sweaters.

But I must say, I’m not loving the VERY chilly mornings here in Massachusetts.

Seems to have come so quickly and it’s definitely hard to say goodbye to my flip flops.

Anyway, I started my fall decorating about a week ago.

Here’s a peek….

Fall table

I just recently made these cute fruit topiaries

( I’ll post how I made them in my next post  )

I made these simple chair sashes for each one of our 8 dining chairs and added a little flower through the tie.

Fall mantel

A simple grapevine wreath I made last fall

 gold A U T U M N glitter letters

I bought this fall topiary years ago at Sams Club.

The cute little bronze pumpkin was a recent find in the bargin bins at the entrance of Target.

They had many types and colors at only $2.50 each !

This little grapevine pumpkin also from Target for just $2.50!

I’ve also incorporated some live fall decor, like this basket of ornamental peppers, baby cabbage and sea grass.

I filled the edges with raffia, which screams fall.

I picked some colorful wildflowers (and weeds) to fill a few mason jars.

Gourds and pumpkins are always a staple in my fall decor.

My husband and I have been preparing to host a family gathering in our yard, we got busy planting in and around our yard with mums, kale, cabbage, etc.

The party was to celebrate the recent marriage of our cousin Chris and new wife Shaunna, who were married last month in California.

Not everyone was able to fly out, so we had our own little “reception” here.

It was a lovely autumn day.

A bail of hay, cabbage and pumpkin look sweet on this old wagon in our side garden.

Montauk daisies are blooming, a sure sign of Autumn.

Pots filled with colorful mums, and greenery and placed in an old Ocean Spray wooden box sit on our deck.

Also, Indian corn and more gourds and pumpkins.

You may notice I’ve moved things around a bit for our party.

This wooden tool box was made by my son years ago when he was just a Cub Scout (he’s 15 now).

I painted it red and heavily distressed it to make it look much older than it is.

Party favors

Little boxes filled with Hershey Kisses.

Mr. & Mrs. was stamped on each tag.

A little beverage table

Autumn colored Hydrangeas in mason jars for the centerpieces

and burlap table runners.

Congratulations Shaunna & Chris  !!

happy fall y’all.
