Halloween costumes through the years

I’ve been known to go a little overboard when it comes to Halloween decorating.  Okay, maybe just a wee bit, but my favorite thing about Halloween next to decorating our home is dressing up.  I really love the thought process and creative energy that goes into making homemade costumes for myself and for my family.

I thought it would be fun to share some of our past Halloween costumes.  I hope you enjoy.  Perhaps you’ll even get inspired to make your own homemade costumes this year!

Argh matey! My sweet Princess Pirate.
My little light blue crayon, Katy Perry and a colorful clown

Groovy 70’s
An adorable green M&M, a scary mummy bride, and a scarecrow

The scary headless lady and a mini Katy Perry
Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead)

Wonder Woman and Clark Kent

For a nerd, Clark sure was a good kisser!

Mary Poppins

A fisherman and his mermaid

Ginger and Gilligan

Myah’s fries

A bowl of Fruit Loops

I Love Lucy

Lucy loves Ricky too!

These totally rad get-ups were for an 80’s themed party
My son and his girlfriend made the most adorable Minions. Their costumes were all their idea!
They inspired me to dress up as a Minion last Halloween to pick my girls up from carpool. Needless to say, they weren’t as happy to see me, as I was to see them 🙄

A glimpse of our home last Halloween. Like I said, maybe I go a wee bit overboard.

Are you a little Kooky with Halloween or another holiday?  Do you also like to decorate and make your own costumes?

I would love for you to share!

Thanks for stopping by.
